SEND Provision at Berger and Resources for Parents

Berger Primary School provides a broad, balanced and creative curriculum for all children in a safe, stimulating and caring environment. We recognise that we are a community of individuals with particular and diverse needs, who will learn, develop and grow in very different ways.

In planning and teaching our staff set suitable challenges for, and respond to this diversity of need, which includes, but is not limited to, Special Educational Needs. We aim to create an environment that meets the needs of each child, enabling them to make progress to achieve their best.

We aim to ensure that the special educational needs of children are identified early, assessed comprehensively and provided for effectively.

We work to:

  • make clear the expectations, roles and responsibilities of all partners in the process.

  • enable all children to have full access to all elements of the school curriculum.

  • ensure that parents are able to play their part in supporting their child’s education.

  • ensure that our approach to planning and provision is person-centred, and that children have an active voice in the process.
