Reading for pleasure
At Berger we understand that reading is a key part of learning, and that reading for pleasure is critical in developing good reading habits and skills. Children are given many opportunities for reading.
Poplar class made quills and tried to write and draw with them. This is because Samuel Pepys wrote about the Great Fire of London in his diary. In those days people used quills to write with.
Poplar class did some marbling and cut out silhouettes of a London skyline to make amazing visual art pieces.
Poplar class enjoyed lots of acting, cooking, music and dance for our WOW day. We ended the day by making a chain to help put out a pretend fire.
